1st Place Sydney Metropolitan Region 2002 3rd Year Apprentice


David Camwell, participated in the annual Restaurant & Catering New South Wales Apprenticeship Competition organized in association with TAFE. This involved preparing, cooking and presenting an entrée,  main course and a mystery box of ingredients for dessert.
After many sleepless nights in preparation and against some very stiff competition from all over Sydney he emerged the victor.  Winning himself a place in the State Apprentice Competition in September 2002. This competition involved the competitors being given a mystery box of ingredients and having to plan a menu, devise recipes, prepare, cook and present a three-course meal within 2½ hours! All under close scrutiny from the watchful eyes of the judges. David coming away from the State Titles, highly commended with a finalist's medal.
He was presented both his winning Metropolitan and State finalist medals in front of 1000 guests during a spectacular gala evening at the Restaurant & Catering NSW Awards for Excellence at Fox Studios in Sydney.
